Dr. Mitchell Stansloski

Teaching Professor

Mechanical Engineering

Dr. Stansloski is a profesoor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and teaches the Senior Design Capstone, mechanical vibrations, dynamics, and reliability courses. He has been practicing in industry for more than 35 years. He has developed two new courses, Mechanical Vibrations and Advanced Topics in Mechanical Vibrations, and significantly revised the Senior Design Capstone, the Dynamics of Machines and the Reliability Engineering courses. He formerly taught within the department from 2011 – 2017 and returned to the department in January of 2023.

Dr. Stansloski received the Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Ohio Northern University, a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Mississippi State University, and a Ph.D. from Colorado State University in Mechanical Engineering. He received the Professional Engineering License from the State of Colorado in 1999 and a Category IV Vibration Analysis certification from the Vibration Institute in 2003.

He started is career as a plant engineer in 1988 in both the chemical and automotive industries. He went on to found two engineering firms, Pioneer Engineering in 2000 and Voyager Instruments in 2017. He has taught hundreds of professional seminars and been a speaker at more than twenty conferences and meetings.

Dr. Stansloski holds two US Patents (2017, 2020) and has published a textbook, Vibration Analysis for Rotating Equipment in 2021.

He is a member of the American Society for Mechanical Engineers, the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals, and the Vibration Institute
