Welcome to the Cellular Engineering and Mechanobiology Laboratory at Colorado State University. The lab is founded and directed<\/strong> <\/span>by Mechanical Engineering Assistant Professor Soham Ghosh<\/a>. It is located at the Translational Medicine Institute (TMI) in Fort Collins, Colorado. The TMI was strategically established to have access to a\u00a0 state of the art facility for pursuing cutting-edge biomedical research.<\/p>

We are a group of scientist-engineers who enjoy spending our time asking and answering exciting questions on how cells and intracellular components coordinate with environmental cues to maintain and regenerate tissues, and to degenerate tissues with aging. We have a specific focus on the dynamics of cell nucleus, its chromatin architecture and epigenetic mechanisms. To answer those questions we use the concepts of mechanics and biophysics at multiple scales, biology of aging, stem cell biology and any other scientific paradigm that we need. Our research culture is question driven, not technique driven. However, we regularly use the techniques such as mechanical characterization, microscopy, quantitative imaging, image processing, molecular biology, genetic manipulation, biophysical modeling, and mammalian model to answer those questions.\u00a0<\/p>

At CSU we enjoy the outstanding collaborative culture with other labs in TMI such as the\u00a0Orthopaedic Bioengineering Research Lab<\/a>,\u00a0Orthopaedic Research Center<\/a>,\u00a0Preclinical Surgical Research Lab<\/a>,\u00a0Immunotherapy lab<\/a>,\u00a0and the\u00a0Prion Research Center<\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
