the upside-down landing of flies (Led by Dr. Cheng at Penn State).<\/p><\/li><li><p>08\/2019: Ben Pawlowski successfully defended his Master&#8217;s thesis on &#8220;Modeling, Simulation, and Control of Soft Robots.&#8221;<\/p><\/li><li><p>04\/2019: Our group members have received several notable awards:<\/p><ul><li><p>Brandon Tighe won 2nd place at the Multicultural Undergraduate Research Art and Leadership Symposium (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.murals.colostate.edu\/home\">MURALS<\/a>) and received the junior researcher award at E-days.<\/p><\/li><li><p>Jordan Julian earned high honors in the Celebrate Undergraduate Research and Creativity Showcase (<a href=\"https:\/\/curc.colostate.edu\/index.cfm\">CURC<\/a>) for his research on walking robots.<\/p><\/li><li><p>The NASA robotic mining team, supervised by Dr. Zhao, was selected as the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.engr.colostate.edu\/me\/2018-2019-e-days-senior-design-showcase-winners\/\">1st place mechanical engineering senior design project<\/a>.<\/p><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><p>02\/2019: Our lab participates in the annual open house hosted by the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.lsop.colostate.edu\/open-house\/\">\u00a0Little Shop of Physics
