Engineering Network Services

Components of the Cluster

At present the compute cluster consists of the following:

  • A submit node (master node) with 2 Intel Sandy Bridge 7 core processors and 128GB RAM
  • 18 compute nodes each with 2 Intel Sandy Bridge 6 core processors and 256GB RAM
  • 8 compute nodes with 2 Intel Sandy Bridge 6 core processors, 64GB RAM, and 3 GTX 780 video cards
  • 8TB storage space

The compute cluster totals 324 processors (cores) and 5120GB RAM.

Infiniband interconnects local accounts, so no NFS mounting is available from the other ENS file servers. However, NFS mounting is available within the cluster.

Univa grid engine is used for scheduling.
