Mr. Mark Abshire

 

Biosketch

Mr. Abshire is a senior project manager with 26 years of experience in geotechnical and geoenvironmental engineering for public and private sector clients in the United States, Canada, South and Central America, Southeast Asia, Africa, and New Zealand. Project management and project engineering experience include mining, reclamation, public works and civil infrastructure, and community development. Specific project experience includes mine tailings management, mine reclamation and closure, environmental compliance auditing, water treatment plants, levees, power generation facilities, municipal and public buildings, residential and commercial developments, roadways, and municipal parks. Specific expertise includes tailings storage facility design, reclamation and closure design, foundation design, slope stability investigation and design, geotechnical and geoenvironmental investigation, construction management, construction materials testing, and forensic geotechnical investigation. Mark holds professional engineering licenses in Colorado, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Washington, and Alaska. At Colorado State University, Mr. Abshire and Dr. Howard Perko developed the curriculum for CIVE 574– Civil Engineering Project Management, and have co-taught the course each Fall Semester since 2009.
