(Left) Map of the Mississippi Alluvial Plain within the state of Mississippi, showing watershed boundaries, lakes, fields, and the Big Sunflower River; (Right) Decrease in water table elevation between 2000 and 2015 as simulated by a coupled surface-subsurface hydrologic model (SWAT+). The drop in water table elevation in the cultivated areas is due to groundwater pumping for irrigation (Dr. Bailey).

Professor Vujica Yevjevich (1913 – 2006)

HSE Professor Yevjevich has been one of the most influential leaders in the field of Hydrology and Water Resources and is widely considered the father of stochastic hydrology.
