The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering

offers a curriculum based in math, science and engineering to give our graduates a well-rounded education with a depth of knowledge that prepares them for the many different engineering opportunities available on graduation. Our graduates go on to work in biotechnology, biomedical, microelectronics, environmental consulting, petroleum, chemical, food, pharmaceutical and other private sector industries and with government agencies.

The mission of the Department is “to educate future leaders in chemical and biological engineering who effectively combine their broad knowledge of mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology with their engineering analysis and design skills for the creative solution of problems in chemical and biological technology and for the synthesis of innovative processes and products.”
