Prelab:
Complete prelab before coming to the lab. The
instructor will sign-off on the prelab: 10%.
Hardware and Demo:
Demonstration of your hardware circuits during your
group meeting: 25%.
Memo:
Your report should consist of the following:
- A front page in the Banana Electronics
memo format;
- The design description (Figure 2 on
Challenge webpage) and the circuit for the design (attached as
Figure 1 and Figure 2) 10%;
- The contents of ROM in hexadecimal form
(attached as Table 1) 10%;
- A timing waveform diagram for different
input patterns (Figure 3) . 10%;
The
text of your memo should include
- Introductory Paragraph: state the
task and constraints 5%;
- Design Paragraph: in one
single paragraph, clearly explain the design. Present Figures
1 and 2 and Table 1. 5 %;
- Results Paragraph: present Figure 3
and discuss how you verified your circuit.. 5%;
- Conclusions Paragraph: give a
conclusion, stating whether you were successful in completing
the task in both simulation and hardware. Comment on
advantages and disadvantages you see in ROM based
design and whether you would use a different approach if
you have to do the design again. 5%;
