The seven-segment display is a device having wide application in the field of digital electronics, from microwave ovens to automobile instrumentation.

For this project you will actually design, simulate, and build hardware for a switching network that allows any decimal digit to be displayed. You will gain further experience in designing from a truth table and using Karnaugh maps in practical work, and you will use "don't cares" to your advantage in obtaining the simplest possible output functions.

This is the most complex project you have undertaken to date, and you will find that careful planning is essential.
