October 15 , 2013. Research project entitled "Quantifying Fugitive Methane Emissions from the Natural Gas Gathering and Processing Sector", which was organized by the Environmental Defense Fund and funded by EDF and a group of industry partners, is initiated.

October 15 , 2012 . Research grant entitled "Achieving Tier 4 Emissions and Efficiency in Biomass Cookstoves" awarded from DOE in response to the FOA Technology Research, Development and Tools for Clean Biomass Cookstoves (DOE FOA-0000709).

Sept. 26 , 2012. Graduate student Esteban Hincapie wins Young Algae Researcher Award by the Algae Biomass Organization.

March 1, 2012 . Research grant entitled "Evaluation of Cellulosic Biomass Derived Oxygenates as Drop- In Fuel Blend Components" received from DOE.

June 3, 2010 . Bloomerg Markets article on the current status of algal biofuels.

April 27, 2010. CSU to perform engine testing on bio-butanol produced from pine beetle kill by Cobalt biofuels. Project featured on CBS4 News in Denver.

March 29 , 2010. Fort Collins Coloradoan article on NSF algae-derived biofuel combustion grant.

January 13, 2010. Department of Energy announces $49 million award to the National Alliance for Advanced Biofuels and Bio-products for the creation of an algae biofuel consortium. Marchese research group to focus on characterization of the properties of algae-derived fuels.

January 1, 2010 . Research grant entitled "Demonstration of Bio-Alcohol/FAME Blends with Tailored Low Temperature Chemistry for Enhanced Homogenous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) Engine Performance" received from the Colorado Center for Biorefining and Biofuels.

August 2009. Research grant entitled "The Effect of Chemical Structure on Pollutant Formation Kinetics in Algae-Derived Biofuel Combustion" received from the National Science Foundation. Press Release (March 24, 2010).

November 2008. Research grant entitled "Effect of Chemical Structure on NOx and PM Emissions from Algae-Based Biodiesel FAME" received from the Sustainable Biofuels Development Center.

March 2008. CSU awarded NSF Grant to acquire rapid compression machine and rapid NOx analyzer for combustion chemistry of biofuels.
