Ishan Thakkar is a PhD candidate and graduate research assistant in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at Colorado State University (CSU). His current advisor is Dr.Sudeep Pasricha , who is an Associate Professor in the ECE department and the Director of the Embedded Systems and High Performance Computing (EPiC) Laboratory at CSU.
He completed his undergraduate studies in 2009 from L.D. College of Engineering, Gujarat University, India. He received MS in electrical engineering from CSU in 2013. He was advised by Dr. Kevin Lear during his MS research. He has industry, teaching and research experience in multiple disciplines.
His research has been recognized with one Best Paper Award at the ACM SLIP 2016 workshop and one Best Paper Award Finalist selection at the IEEE ISQED 2016 conference. He is currently serving as an Organizing Committee Member of the 2017 IEEE International Green and Sustainable Computing (IGSC) conference. He is also involved in the Technical Program Committee of the 2017 IEEE International Green and Sustainable Computing (IGSC) conference and the 2018 IEEE Embedded and VLSI Design conference. His current research interests include Silicon Photonic Interconnects, 3D-Stacked DRAM, 3D Packaging, Emerging Non-Volatile Memories.
