Teaching

The cornerstone of my teaching philosophy is to prepare students to become first-rate researchers and successful industry leaders. In achieving this objective, my teaching style is characterized by adopting interactive learning techniques to engage all students in the classroom. Through my academic experience, I have come to realize that a classroom can be divided into learning styles. As one example, some students prefers a teacher-centered approach, where the teacher is the authority in presenting information while others prefer the approach of the teacher being a facilitator of student learning. In realizing the different ways that students learn and in striving to optimize their learning experience, my teaching philosophy is a blend of multiple approaches. I believe that the teacher should present the key points in a particular topic to solidify the student’s conceptual understanding of the material while at the same time allow them opportunities for self-discovery.

“The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don't tell you what to see.” -- Alexandra K.Trenfor --.
