Engineering Graduate Student Visit Day

Friday and Saturday, March 5-6, 2010

Engineering Building and Lory Student Center, Colorado State University

Colorado State University's College of Engineering invites all prospective graduate students (admitted or exploring options) to attend a visit day. This day will be hosted by the college and its departments/programs in atmospheric science, biomedical engineering, chemical and biological engineering, civil and environmental engineering, electrical and computer engineering, and mechanical engineering.

8:30 a.m. Registration and continental breakfast, North Ballroom, Lory Student Center
9:00 a.m. College overview with Dean Sandra Woods, North Ballroom (Lory Student Center upper level map)
9:30 a.m. Break out sessions with engineering departments
Biomedical Engineering
Location: Lory Student Center 227
9:30-10:30 a.m. Overview of the School of Biomedical Engineering, Dr. Sue James and Sara Neys
10:30-11:00 a.m. Campus tour
11:00-12:00 a.m. Current student panel

Mechanical Engineering
1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Tours of off-campus research facilities (ERC, MERC, EECL)
6:00 p.m. Food, conversation, and pool with current graduate students. CooperSmith's Poolside, 5 Old Town Square
Saturday:
10:00 a.m. Tour parts of Fort Collins
(meet at the Lory Student Center large staircase, west end of the Engineering parking lot)
We will leave by van, taking in City Park, the entrance to Lory State Park, Horsetooth Reservoir, Hughes stadium, some central shopping areas, and into Old Town Fort Collins, arriving for a light lunch at The Rustic Oven in Old Town at 11:30.
We will drop everyone back at the Engineering Building and the nearby hotels immediately after lunch.
