Ellen has taken advantage of the hands-on research opportunities and the chance to meet astronauts while an undergraduate at Colorado State. She is working with a Ph.D. student in the Ion Propulsion Lab on an experiment to improve hollow cathodes which are used for propulsion in deep space missions. Ellen traveled to Europe twice while a CSU student. After working in a lab in Hanover, Germany as part of the Study Abroad Program, she was selected by a Ph.D. student from Germany to work with him on his laser project. In her spare time, she plays ultimate Frisbee, and was just selected for a national women's league.
