Computing in the Academic Village
The Engineering Living/Learning Community in the Academic Village provides the most computer-intensive experience for freshmen. Only in the Academic Village are students provided with a Sun Ray thin client in the residence room! (What’s a thin client, you ask?)
It’s true; students do not need to bring a computer to CSU – everything needed for engineering is provided in each student’s room!
In addition to the in-room thin client, the Academic Village provides the following computer resources:
- Engineering design studios – group work computing studios
- Electronic Classroom
- Printing – up to 11 x 17, duplex color
- Seminar rooms with presentation equipment and SmartBoards
- Scanning (using a digitizer)
- Video-conferencing in both Academic Village classrooms
As with all good things in life, all of these resources carry a small price. A $350/yr (charged at $175/semester) program charge is assessed to every resident of the Engineering Building in the Academic Village.
