Biomedical Engineering Interdisciplinary Studies Program Certificate

The SBME program offers interdisciplinary undergraduate and graduate students certificates in Biomedical Engineering. The interdisciplinary certificate approach to student training maintains the academic rigor of traditional disciplines while meeting market (student and industry) demand for biomedical engineering training in regulatory issues, clinical research and practice, animal research and small business/entrepreneurship practices. The Interdisciplinay Studies Program Certificate is similar to a minor and may be added to any graduate degree program. The certificate requires 21 credits in the disciplines of chemical, electrical, and mechanical engineering, physiology, anatomy, biochemistry, biomedical sciences, chemistry, health and exercise science, and more. Students pursuing the certificate will find that some courses will count toward both the certificate and the student's specific degree requirements. Mechanisms are available for professionals interested in a brief update, but not an entire degree program, to pursue the Certificate alone.

Please Note: The certificate will NOT APPEAR on the Diploma, but will be recorded on the academic transcript.
