About SBME

Colorado State University's School of Biomedical Engineering (SBME) was formed in March 2007 to address society's needs in bioengineering, one of the fastest emerging areas of scientific discovery. Colorado State's interdisciplinary approach builds on strengths in engineering, veterinary medicine, and the sciences to provide breadth and depth to bioengineering education and research.

The SBME involves more than 50 faculty members in four award-winning colleges:

  • Applied Human Sciences
  • Engineering
  • Natural Sciences
  • Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.

The SBME offers core and specialized advanced graduate bioengineering programs.

  • Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Biomedical Engineering
  • Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in Biomedical Engineering
  • Master of Engineering degree in Biomedical Engineering

At the undergraduate level, our Interdisciplinary Studies Certificate in Biomedical Engineering offers academic opportunities to students from diverse backgrounds who want to study in this exciting area.
