BME Graduate Student Nguyen-Truong Receives Founder’s Award

Graduate Students from the Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering presented 54 outstanding research posters at the 2018 Graduate Student Showcase on November 13.

Congratulations go to Michael Nguyen-Truong, School of Biomedical Engineering, for receiving this year’s Founder’s Award for his presentation “Different Mechanical Properties Between Adult Sheep Right and Left Ventricles.”

The Founder’s Award is provided by Dr. Tammi Vacha-Hasse who envisioned and was the driving force in creating the Graduate Student Showcase during her time as associate dean of the Graduate School. Her continued dedication to celebrate the scholarship of all graduate students and facilitating interdisciplinary collaboration inspired the creation of the Founder’s Award. The award recognizes an exceptional graduate student who is forging a new path in research, creativity, or entrepreneurship.
