Dr. Jianguo Zhao

Dr. Jianguo Zhao received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Michigan State University in 2015; his M.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Harbin Institute of Technology, P. R. China in 2007 and B.E. in 2005. His research interests include biologically inspired robotics, mechanism design, dynamic systems, mechatronics, 3D printing, and vision-based control. His research on meso-scale jumping robots has been reported by many media including Popular Science, Discovery News, PHYS.org, IEEE Spectrum, and others. He has won several rewards including finalist for the best student paper in IEEE/RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems (IROS,2014), the outstanding research award from Michigan State University (2011 & 2013), and the second place in ASME mechanism & robot design competition (2012). He is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, the IEEE Robotics & Automation Society, and the IEEE Control Systems Society.
