Hands-on teaching labs are core to our undergraduate educational philosophy.

temp

Materials Lab (Eng. B8)

The Materials Teaching Laboratory supports the MECH331 - Introduction to Engineering Materials class that is a requirement for students in Mechanical Engineering.

temp

Motion Lab (Eng. B6)

The motion lab is a teaching lab dedicated in demonstrating theories of dynamic motion and its control. The lab serves primarily junior and senior level courses such as dynamics of machines, mechanical vibrations, and control systems.

temp

Mechatronics Lab (Eng. B107)

This instructional Lab supports MECH307 and related senior design projects. The Lab is used for building and testing electrical circuits, taking electrical measurements with instrumentation (power supplies, function generators, oscilloscopes, multimeters), and programming and interfacing PIC microcontrollers (using PICBasic Pro).

temp

Fluid & Thermal Sciences (Eng. A4)

This instructional lab support MECH 338, Thermalsciences Lab, a 1 credit hour course for juniors and seniors.  The lab covers topics in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.

EMEC

Engineering Manufacturing Education Center (EMEC)

The EMEC is an instructional and practical laboratory used to support scheduled classes and experiential laboratory sessions for undergraduate learning in the Department of Mechanical Engineering. Students receive instruction, and work on sanctioned projects and manufacturing activities including senior engineering design practicum endeavors.
