Unveiled at the Lincoln Center
On the evening of March 10, students involved with the CSU Formula SAE Team formally unveiled the car for the 2007 SAE Competition in Detroit, in May. The event attracted many parents and friends of the program at one of the premiere venues in Fort Collins.

Removing bodywork: The Team unveiled the car and then removed the rear engine bay cowling to allow attendees a view of the longitudinally mounted Yamaha R6 engine, ring & pinion drive and composite drivecase.

Features: The CSU Formula SAE car is designed and fabricated by undergraduates at the Motorsport Engineering Research Center. Components from the carbon fiber monocoque chassis to the cast aluminum uprights are constructed by the students at the MERC. The monocoque features many safety attributes, including strakes and carbon fiber semi-structural sidepods for increased side impact protection. The car also features a carbon fiber drivecase which carries the ring & pinion carrier and differential plus all the rear suspension components.
