Computational Facility sees constant use
In the summer of 2006 the Motorsport Engineering Computational Facility was brought on-line. These quad processor HP Workstations were supplied with substantial help from HP. The machines enable analyses using Fluent for CFD and a range of structural and dynamic modelers including ABAQUS and ADAMS. Upgrades underway in early 2007 have optimized the machine performance, and further enhancements will allow the workstations to be operated from the adjacent conference room via a ceiling mounted projector and smartboard system.

torsional and warp modes. This computational work follows a large amount of research involving experimental torsional stiffness measurement.

CFD - Aerodynamics: A number of aerodynamics studies have made heavy use of the facility. Full car modeling as well as wing elements are undertaken. Current research in high yaw is being investigated and experimentally verified in wind tunnel studies.
