A MOTORSPORT ENGINEERING EDUCATION? The Motorsport Engineer is critical to the performance of a modern race team. Media discussion about the importance of formalized driver feeder series has been prevalent; however, the topic of the lack of specially trained motorsport engineers has been of much lower profile. Engineers educated to take on lead roles on professional race teams are a rare commodity. CSU Motorsport Engineering graduates are already key members of several professional raceteams and series. The mission of Motorsport Engineering at CSU is to develop engineers with advanced degrees, focusing on motorsports. These engineers train for the challenges of vehicle design, vehicle setup and race preparation. Research is carried out using advanced, state-of-the-art equipment allowing the graduate students to gain invaluable experience performing research supporting the Motorsport Industry. The Motorsport Program currently has more than 20 graduate students. Current students hail from the USA, India, China, and Japan. |
