Stability, Yield and Efficiency OFCdS/CdTe Devices
The goal of this research was to develop a detailed understanding of process/device stability, efficiency and yield.
This understanding has led to the demonstration of consistent performance when devices are exposed to accelerated stress and outdoor conditions (stability). Devices are processed with a unique, continuous, in-line pilot system. The pilot system enables unique processing steps and conditions not available with batch processing and allows the fabrication of a large number of devices. Results from the pilot scale system are applicable to systems processing larger areas. Read entire report
Manufacturing Process Optimization to Improve Stability, Yield and Efficiency of CdS/CdTe PV Devices
The aim of this Thin Film PV Partnership Program (TFPP) effort is to advance the understanding of device stability, efficiency and process yield for CdTe PV devices. Methodologies for reliably processing larger areas and increasing device efficiencies are being developed. We have actively participated in the National CdTe R&D Team activities. Our ongoing collaborations with the PV Testing Lab at CSU, NREL, Pacific Northwest Natl. Lab and other CdTe Team Members are resulting in further advances. The efforts in this project will be a significant step towards realizing the full potential of CdTe PV. Read entire report
