Industry Activities

Industrial Advisory Board Annual Meeting

Once a year, typically in late February or early March, members of the Industrial Advisory Board, the Center Executive Committee and Center staff gather at a face-to-face business meeting to review key research and receive Industry guidance on Center work.

Throughout the year, there are numerous opportunities for industry members to participate in Center activities and interact with the Principal Investigators and students. Additionally, the Center provides special activities designed to give students a better understanding of industry culture, challenges and opportunities.

Annual Retreat

Members of the Industrial Advisory Board are welcome to attend the Center's annual retreat, typically held in January each year. Principal Investigators, students, researchers and staff from all three campuses gather to review research and EUV ERC accomplishments from the previous year. The retreat is an excellent opportunity to receive an in-depth understanding of the Center and have quality one-on-one time with the people who make of the EUV ERC. The group photo below was taken at the 2011 retreat at a conference center in the Colorado foothills.

Internal Training

One of the EUV ERC's greatest contributions to industry comes in the form of our students. The experiences they have at the Center contribute to their capability and professional maturity. See examples of these experiences. During the Center's annual retreat, experts in patents, intellectual property and entrepreneurship provide presentations to our students. Student Leadership Council Industry Seminars

Throughout the year, the Student Leadership Council sponsors seminars in which a guest speaker from industry delivers a talk about industry culture, challenges and opportunities. Through the use of web-based conferencing software, students from all three campuses attend each seminar. The SLC is gratful to the numerous members of the Industrial Advisory Board who have given their time and drawn on their personal experiences to enrich the student's awareness of career choices.

Annual NSF Site Visit and Review

Each year in the late spring, the NSF visits one of the ERC campuses to conduct a review of the Center's activities. Of particular interest in these reviews is the partnership between the Center and the IAB. In addition to research overviews, there is a summary of the Industry Program and a special breakout session attended by the IAB and the NSF review team.
