Staff Leave Request

View your current records and request leave.

Please follow these instructions when using the ENS Leave of Absense web-based tool.

To request leave:

  1. Select the "Request a leave of absence" link
  2. Log in with your Engineering username and password
  3. In the "Type" column, select the type of leave from the drop-down box: Vacation, Sick Leave, Sick Leave for family, or Conference, etc.
    • Use "Conference, etc." for University Business.
    • Use "Other" for any other type of leave, e.g., VIPS, funeral, etc.
  4. In the "Month" column select the month in which the leave starts
  5. In the "From" column, select the first day of the month you will be on leave
  6. In the "To" column, select last day of the month you will be on leave. If your leave extends to the next month, select the last day of the month. Then fill out another request (next row) for the remainder of the leave in the next month.
  7. The requester must calculate the number of days and hours being requested and make the appropriate selection in the "Days" and "Hours" column. This is not automatically calculated because of university holidays, partial days off, etc.
  8. In the "Comment" section, be sure to explain what hours you will be missing for partial days of leave. Any other notes should also be added in the Comments section.
  9. Up to 5 separate leave requests may be requested. If there are more, complete one form and then start on another.
  10. Click on "submit" and verify your leave on the new page
  11. Click "send" to submit the leave request or "back" to make corrections.
