How To Log In To A Sun Ray
Most likely, when you first sit down at a Sun Ray thin client, the monitor will be in sleep mode. Just jiggle the mouse and count to 30 (be patient, the monitor should wake up before you get to 30). Below is what you should see for a login screen:

Step 1: Enter your Engineering user name and password into the appropriate boxes.
Step 2: Select one of the following buttons:
- Lab Environment (Windows): This is for students to connect to servers with the Engineering software you need for your classes. In general, the same engineering software is installed here that you will see on the Windows PCs in the labs.
- Admin Desktop (Windows): This is the faculty & staff Windows desktop, which has all the necessary office applications. It does not include the engineering-specific software that students use.
- Classic Sun Ray (Solaris): This will switch to the "classic" Sun Ray login screen, which allows access to high-end Linux and Solaris compute servers. Note: If using this option, there is no need to enter your user name and password in Step 1.
- The "Other Services" section: This is how students access other college compute resources. Typically, only non-Engineering students will use this.
Problems?
- I Don't See This Login Screen
- The Sun Ray may have been used in Classic Sun Ray mode last time. To reset the Sun Ray to the normal login screen, press Ctrl + Moon (located in the top right of a Sun Ray keyboard) or Ctrl + Pause + A (for non-Sun keyboards.)
