You will find much more detailed information by using the "Help" in the start menu. However, the list below should get you started.
The Task Bar:
The task bar at the bottom of the screen give you access to most of the programs and tools installed on the server. Below is a list of the most basic meaning behind each icon, from left to right:
Start This is similar to the Windows start menu button.
Show Desktop This will minimize all open windows and show the desktop
Windows List This will show which applications are open on which workspace.
Firefox This will start Firefox.
File manager This is similar in nature to Microsoft Windows Explorer. It allows you to view your files in a graphic representation.
Terminal This will open a windows to access the command line interface (CLI).
Windows Desktop This will open a windows with access to a Windows Desktop.
Workspaces Each button represents one of four different workspaces or "screens". You can open windows and applications in all 4 work areas . This helps you organize your work.
CPU load This will show the load on the computer. The green indicates the load of the users processes and red indicates the load of system processes. Click on this icon to show details of processes running.
