Legacy Applications

For "legacy" applications, that is, older software applications that do not work properly with newer versions of Windows, ENS uses an application delivery solution called Citrix to provide you with legacy application software. Legacy applications will open in a virtual Windows session, and may have some limitations.

List of Legacy Applications

  • Capdetworks 7.1
  • CSUDP
  • Driven
  • NetSTORM
  • Sigma (older versions only)
  • TK Solver

How To Access Legacy Apps

When you open one of the legacy applications on a Windows Desktop, you will have a virtual application "published" to your desktop session. Simply use it as normal and exit it the normal way when finished.

The method to access legacy applications depends on whether you are using a Windows PC or Sun Ray in the ENS labs, or if you are using the Virtual Lab.

Windows PC or Sun Ray in the ENS Labs

  1. Click on the "Legacy Apps" icon on the Desktop (fig. 1.) A "Citrix Online plug-in" window will open and ask for your user name and password. (See fig. 2.) Enter your Engineering user name and password; be sure to leave engr_dom before your user name as shown.
  2. Your legacy session will now be started. You can start legacy applications from the Start Menu (fig. 3) or by clicking on the Citrix icon in the system tray and selecting your application (fig. 4.)
  3. The application will appear like a normal application window (fig. 5.) Just exit the application normally when you are done.

Virtual Lab

Legacy Applications are located in the Windows Start Menu, in a folder called Legacy and Rapid Applications (fig. 3). The application will appear like a normal application window (fig. 5.) Just exit the application normally when you are done.
