I appreciate the chance to be able to learn about atmospheric science even though my degree will be in electrical engineering.

In the classroom you learn from a textbook and all the problems have answers. Research is completely outside the bounds. There are no pre-defined answers. I am curious about how things are done in the industry and how problems are solved in the real-world. Research in computer engineering gives me a glimpse of that.
