Colorado State University is hosting a week-long international conference that focuses on advances in x-ray lasers and applications. The 14th bi-annual International Conference on X-Ray Lasers will be held at the Behavioral Science Building May 25-30, 2014.
A continuing series, the conference is dedicated to recent developments and applications of x-ray lasers and other coherent x-ray sources with attention to applications, supporting technologies, and instrumentation. New results will be reported in the generation of intense, coherent x-rays, as well as progress toward practical devices and their applications in numerous fields. Advances in plasma-based x-ray lasers, fourth generation accelerator-based sources and higher harmonic generation, and other x-ray generation schemes will be covered.
The conference - co-chaired by ECE professors Jorge Rocca, Carmen Menoni, and Mario Marconi - attracts participants from all five continents. Visit the conference web site for a list of speakers. In previous years, the premier conference series was held in cities like Paris, France (2012), Gwanyu, Korea (2010), Belfast, Ireland (2008), Berlin, Germany (2006), Beijing, China (2004) and Aspen, Colo. (2002).
The conference will also host an exhibition of posters designed by undergraduate students enrolled in Colorado State Art Professor Risbeck's course.
