Thanks to the overwhelming support of ECE alumni and friends, the Aram Budak ECE Fellowship has surpassed the endowment level of $50,000, ensuring that the fund will be awarded each year in perpetuity.
"It is overwhelming to realize that even after 18 years of retirement, alumni and industry partners still remember and care enough to contribute so generously toward the establishment of a fellowship in my name," said Dr. Aram Budak. "What a great honor it is to receive such an enduring recognition." He added, "My sincere thanks to all of you."
The Fellowship, which will provide support to students based on academic achievement and financial need, was established to honor and celebrate the teaching legacy of Budak, who joined Colorado State University in 1957 and taught in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering for more than 30 years. Budak made a profound impact on engineers around the globe and is lauded as one of the best professors in the history of the department.
"I am tremendously pleased with the unprecedented success of this campaign and would like to extend my sincere appreciation to our alumni and friends who contributed to this fund," said Tony Maciejewski, ECE department head. "Thank you so much for your support."
