DENVER - The Colorado Institute of Technology, in partnership with the Colorado Commission on Higher Education, issued $1.5 million in grants this morning to fund projects at various schools in the state.
Robust CenterAmong the grant recipients included two projects at Colorado State University: The Center for Robustness in Computer Science and An Integrative K-12 College Training Program for the Computer and Semiconductor Industry in the Rocky Mountain Region.
Funding for the grants, dubbed Technology Advancement Group funds, came from private company donations as well as money collected from Colorado's tire recycling program.
Other schools on the recipient list included the Colorado School of Mines, the University of Denver and the University of Colorado.
The total value of grants from CIT in 2004 is about $10 million, CIT officials said.
The due date for proposals for the next round of funding is April 23.
