Research Information for Louis Scharf

Professor Scharf's research interests are in signal processing, as it applies to communication and instrumentation. His current interests are subspace methods for
adapting space-time transceivers in wireless communication, radar, and sonar. His most recent contributions are to matched and adaptive subspace detectors for radar, sonar, and data communication; interference identification for blind adaptive multi-access communication; reduced rank Wiener filters for efficient coding and filtering of noisy communication sources; canonical decompositions for reduced dimensional filtering and quantizing; and time-varying spectrum estimators for experimental times series modeling.
