What is a co-op?
  • A full-time 6 month PAID work experience related to your major alternating with academic semesters
  • Will involve the need to leave campus to pursue this experience
  • You will continue to be an enrolled student

Who is Eligible for a co-op?
  • Students in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Students who are 2nd semester sophomores or above with 30 completed credits.
  • Register as an interactive user on Colorado State CareerRAM
  • Complete all paperwork required to begin the co-op experience
  • Students in the following majors:
       Electrical Engineering
       Computer Engineering
When Can I co-op?
  • Apply fall semester of your sophomore year to begin a co-op in January. Applications for January co-op must be submitted by October 15.
  • Apply spring semester of your sophomore year to begin a Co-op in July. Applications for the July co-op must be submitted by the end of February.

How Does this Affect my Program of Study?
How do I Apply for a co-op?
  1. Log onto www.career.colostate.edu and register with CareerRAM.
  2. Meet with Elisabeth Wadman, Electrical and Computer Engineering Advisor.
  3. Submit an application of interest
  4. Create a resume and submit to employers for consideration.
  5. Attend REQUIRED workshops prior to going on your co-op assignment.
  6. Register for co-op course through Continuing Education.
  7. Notify your co-op academic advisor when you accept a position.
