Building Lifelong Connections

As our enrollment continues to grow, so does the number of students graduating from our program. This translates to a growing network of alumni throughout the world. With more than 3,000 CSU ECE graduates around the globe, our goal is to bring our alumni closer together; create a sense of community; and facilitate stronger ties between our alumni, current students, and the department. This web page is just one way that we hope to build and enhance lifelong relationships among our alumni and help you feel more connected to Colorado State.

In addition to increased communications via the web, newsletters, letters, and brochures, we are helping alumni reconnect with the department through special events and personal visits with Dr. Tony Maciejewski, ECE department head. Clearly these initiatives are essential to advancing our mission, but we need your help to further extend our outreach and foster alumni communication and involvement.

Alumni Participation Counts

Simply put, the alumni participation rate is the percentage of alumni who give to their alma mater, college, or department. This rate has become a topic of discussion because it has come to directly impact the prestige of educational programs. For example, when it publishes its annual rankings of colleges and universities, U.S. News & World Report uses the alumni giving participation rate as its only indicator of alumni satisfaction. A high alumni participation rate can be indicative of our strength as a department and represents the confidence that our alumni have in the direction of the institution. In other words, the support of alumni is crucial not only for the resources this support provides, but also builds the prestige of the college and university and adds to the value of their degrees.

Every gift counts toward the alumni participation rate. Click here to support our efforts. If you have an idea for an innovative contribution or would like to discuss making a gift-in-kind to the department, please contact the Development Office.
