Supporting the College of Engineering
The more complex our world becomes, the more crucial collaborations become. Such collaborations take a variety of forms: partnerships between the College of Engineering and our industry partners; partnerships between alumni, friends, faculty, and students; partnerships that stretch around the globe and across disciplines.
Since establishment in 1889, the College of Engineering has collaborated with thousands of alumni and industry partners, applying our collective knowledge and research to address real world issues. These partnerships have enabled the College to effectively incorporate our land-grant mission of education, research, and outreach with all aspects of our daily work. Each and every day, we are building upon that base to create a greater legacy for those who follow.
Private funding plays a vital role in our quest to engineer global solutions. We ask you to consider partnering with the College of Engineering by supporting the following priority areas:
Opportunity Funds
The College of Engineering and each of its five academic departments maintains an Opportunity Fund. These funds allow college and department administrators to address the needs of our students, ensuring that the educational experience they receive exceeds all expectations. Contributions to an Opportunity Fund may be used to purchase laboratory equipment, support student travel to design competitions, and much more. To make your gift now, use our online giving page.
Endowed Chairs and Professorships
Endowed chair and professorship positions enable the College of Engineering to provide a comprehensive and enduring educational experience for our students by attracting and retaining exemplary faculty members who are renowned experts in their fields of research and study. Scholarships
Private support in the form of scholarships helps the college to attract and retain the best and brightest students to the study of engineering. Learn more about the types of scholarship accounts and ways to fund them. To make your gift now, use our online giving page.
Student Projects
Each year, hundreds of our undergraduate students participate in student projects. In addition to helping them develop practical, hands-on skills, these projects teach our students how to succeed in an integrated, interdisciplinary engineering design environment. Private support adds a professional element to the student projects and help to prepare outstanding engineers for the future work force. To learn more, contact the Development Office.
