About the College

Chemistry StudentThe College of Engineering has a strong tradition of excellence in science and engineering. The College is comprised of five departments:

Strong collaborations between the scientific and engineering communities at Colorado State provide a firm foundation for world-class research and educational programs.

Our rapidly expanding research base is a true reflection of faculty expertise, and our undergraduate and graduate students benefit from the diversity of classroom and laboratory experiences that this research provides. New centers and laboratories have formed to explore the full spectrum of practical and theoretical technologies that will improve our world. Colorado State is a partner in two National Science Foundation Engineering Research Centers involving faculty and students from the Departments of Atmospheric Science and Electrical & Computer Engineering.

The College of Engineering also is home to four Colorado State University Programs of Research and Scholarly Excellence: the Department of Atmospheric Science, the Center for Extreme Ultraviolet Science and Technology, the Engines and Energy Conversion Laboratory, and the Environmental and Water Resources Engineering Program.

The mission of the College of Engineering is to engineer global solutions that contribute to the quality of life by educating for tomorrow? needs, advancing society, generating and applying new knowledge, and stimulating economic development. Through ongoing strategic planning, we are creating an environment in which innovation and creativity can thrive, and increasingly complex problems can be solved through collaborations between the university and our stakeholders. We have set our goals high and our vision is clear: to create a better world for future generations. We invite you to join us in this venture.
