Poster presentations
Posters representing Integrated Research, Education & Extension Projects, Extension Education Projects, National Facilitation Projects and Regional Water Quality Programs will be displayed on Monday January 13 from 8:00am to 7:30pm. Posters representing the State Water Quality Programs will be displayed on Tuesday January 14 from 8:00am to 7:30pm. Please plan to be present at your poster for the evening poster session, 5:30-7:30pm.

Plotted posters are requested. Suggested size is 3' high x 4' wide to 3' high x 8' wide. Poster presenters will bring their printed posters to the conference and set them up prior to 8:00am on the day of their poster session; they will be viewable all through the day. A master poster location map will be available in each conference packet, in the poster session room, and in the conference headquarters. Please use this to establish the location of your poster. Posters will be displayed on 4' high x 8' wide black padded stand-alone poster boards. There is no table or horizontal surface associated with these poster boards. Push pins will be provided to mount posters. Please remove your poster after the end of the formal poster session (7:30pm).

Poster presenters are requested to send a PowerPoint 2000 for PC file of the poster via email to usdaposter@coop.ext.colostate.edu by December 20. Type your name, state abbreviation, and 'Poster' on the subject line (i.e., Dick Jones, VA, Poster). If you are unable to send your file via email you may send it on a CD. Please contact Beth Mitchell with questions: bmitchel@engr.colostate.edu. PowerPoint files of posters will become part of the USDA-CSREES Program Database of Accomplishments.

Project summaries
All poster presenters are requested to submit project summaries (abstracts) by December 5. The purpose of the summary is to describe succinctly the activity you are presenting. Follow the "Guidelines for content of presentations" above. To submit a project summary: 1) Click the Summary Template link, save the document to your computer as a Word file, and complete it. Please limit the summary to 350 words. 2) Attach the completed file to an email and send to: usdaabstract@coop.ext.colostate.edu. 3) Type your name, state abbreviation and 'Abstract' on the subject line of the email (i.e., Pat Walker, KS, Abstract). (If your project type is not listed in the drop-down box, please provide that information on the 1st line of the summary, i.e., EPA319). Project summaries will become part of the USDA-CSREES Program Database of Accomplishments. Printed copies of all project summaries will be included in the conference packet of materials.

On the template, complete the "Theme" line by entering the appropriate option from the list of USDA-CSREES National Water Quality Program Themes:

Animal Manure & Waste Management Nutrient & Pesticide Management
Drinking Water & Human Health Pollution Assessment & Prevention
Environmental Restoration Watershed Management
Water Policy and Economics Water Conservation & Ag Water Management

For a detailed description of these themes, go to the USDA-CSREES National Water Quality Program website: http://www.usawaterquality.org/

Oral presentations
All oral presentations will be 15 minutes long. Oral presenters using computer created audio visual aids must use PowerPoint 2000 for PC and submit an electronic file of their presentation via email as an attached file to: usdaoral@coop.ext.colostate.edu by December 20. Type your name, state abbreviation and 'Oral' on the subject line (i.e., Mary Smith, IA, Oral). This is necessary to create a master presentation CD for use at the conference to avoid the time wasting exercise of everyone loading their presentation just before their session. An audio-visual assistant will oversee the operation of the projection equipment. Once the PowerPoint presentation is submitted it cannot be modified. If presenters prefer alternative presentation methods or if they cannot meet the December 20 date for submission of a PowerPoint presentation file, a slide projector and overhead projector will be available.
