How to Apply
Application Guidelines:
We welcome your application to the School of Biomedical Engineering! The application deadline for Fall 2012 for the M.S. and Ph.D program is January 15, 2012. The ME and ME Online program application deadline for Fall 2012 is July 1, 2012.
For full consideration, applicants must have completed Calculus 1, 2, and 3 and Physics 1 and 2 (calculus-base preferred). Applicants may be provisionally admitted but required to take a semester of Life Science and Ordinary Differential Equations. In order to assist you through the process, a list of required application materials is below.
Interviewing:
After the initial screening of applications by the School of Biomedical Engineering faculty, candidates for our Ph.D program will be invited to campus to interview for admission. This is also an opportunity for candidates to see campus, meet current and other prospective students, and learn more about the program.
All applicants must submit the following:
- Online Application
- $50 Application Fee
- Professional Resume or Vita - Submit via mail or email as an attachment.
- Statement of Purpose - The statement of purpose is typically 1 - 2 pages and briefly describes your background, educational goals, research interests and why you would be a good fit in the program. May be mailed or emailed as an attachment.
- Two official transcripts from each college or university you have attended - Must be submitted in a university sealed envelope. Send to: Sara Neys, Colorado State University, 1376 Campus Delivery, Fort Collins, CO 80523-1376.
- Graduate Record Examination Scores(all 3 sections: verbal, quantitative and analytical) - The ETS University code for CSU is 4075. Leave the department code blank. It generally takes 3 - 6 weeks for ETS to get the scores to CSU, so allow plenty of time. Photocopies will not be accepted. Visit ETS for more information.
- Three Letters of Recommendation - We recommend letters come from faculty, supervisors, etc., who can accurately speak to your skills as an engineer, scientist, researcher, student, etc. Letters may be mailed or emailed as an attachment to sara.neys@colostate.edu, but must come directly from the recommender.
International applicants must also submit the following two items:
- Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) Score - Photocopies will not be accepted. It generally takes 3 - 6 weeks for ETS to get the scores to CSU, so allow plenty of time. Visit ETS for more information.
- Find the Certified Proof of Financial Support (GS3F) on the Graduate School Website - Contact the International Programs Office for more information.
