Interdisciplinary Research
Biomedical engineering research at CSU is aimed at developing new technologies to advance health care, from diagnostics to treatment. Faculty from 4 colleges are collaborating to be on the cutting edge of biomedical research, which is rapidly expanding to all areas of human health. The main areas of research include:
- Biomechanics and biomaterials
- Molecular, cellular, and tissues engineering
- Medical diagnostics, devices, and imaging
Within these areas, research ranges from therapies and imaging modalities for fighting cancer, to improving equipment used in open heart surgery. Our many research labs, including the world renowned Veterinary Hospital and cancer research center, offer hands-on experience for undergraduate and graduate students to work alongside leading researchers in the field.
