AISES meeting minutes. 10/03/07 Location: NASS office Lory Student Center Attendees: Delbert Willie, Robert Allard, Darryl Benally, Stephen Hill, Miguel Galvez, Heather Vincent, Sarah Hubble, Derrick Benallie, LaRae Platero * Meeting Called to order 5:10pm by Stephen Hill * A 5 foot Subway was provided by Sun Microsystems. * We have $XXXX.XX in our AISES account Taco Sale (tabled until next meeting) * Sometime in November (maybe 2nd week, thurs 8th) Need to discuss with Katrina to see where the planning is. * NASS is having a taco sale Nov 1st to kick off Native American Month. Anyone interested in helping should contact Seraphina. AISES National Conference (Nov 1-3rd, 2007, Phoenix, AZ) * Robert, Derrick, LaRae, Sky plan to attend. * Funding, we have $425.00 from Sun Microsystems * Aaron from WMEP, can help cover 3 students. * Delbert is seeing if Greg from HP can assist with expenses. * Costs: Airfare      (5@$300.00)       $1500.00 Registration (5@$125.00)       $625.00 Hotel(3 Rms,3 nights@$130.00)  $1170.00 Total costs                   * $3295.00* Homecoming Float (October 6th, 2007) * Stephen to contact Marcella to get haybales for trailer. * Plan is to keep trailer at Katrina’s * Stephen will attend 7pm meeting Thursday to liability form. All riders on the float will need to sign this form. * Thursday everyone will meet to work on the float at Katrina’s * Stephen already has supplies to make the float. * Aaron is supplying butcher paper and other items to help decorate. * Stephen will send a note to all with info on getting to Katrina’s * Theme is “Honoring Military Veteren’s” * Miguel offered the use of his ship commissioning pennant to hang on the float. Native American Month film (Tuesday, October 13th, 2007, LSC theater) * The NASS office will be showing the film “Standing Silent Nation” from 7-9pm. * Everyone is encouraged to help out, since this is being advertised as an AISES sponsored event. * Other films to consider in the future are Pine Ridge documentary (Sarah) or Dream Catcher (LaRae). * Delbert suggested that we maybe review the films Friday afternoons in the NASS office. Xbox 360 Halo3 ( October 19th Friday) * Darryl and/or Stephen will bring the xbox to the NASS and setup on the projector. * Stephen is going to see if he could borrow 2 controllers. Halloween Pow Wow (October 27th, 2007, LSC North Ballrom) * Tshirts (LaRae, Derrick) L&D are going to run a cost analysis for T-shirts. We need to turn around time required, so we can have them ready by 10/28 at the very latest. * Vendor (Delbert) We will charge $30.00 to cover the LSC table costs. * Soda/Water/Snacks (Stephen, Katrina) We plan to sell popcorn and soda (Katrina suggested sno-cones & cotton candy). We have $100.00 budgeted for this. We need to know if this is enough to cover everything. * ASCSU funding (Sarah) Delbert & Sarah met with Michele Frick and it looks like we will get all the money that we are asking for. Sarah is going to present to the funding board on Thursday 11th. She has submitted the budget proposal and event description. She will meet with the liason on Monday. Delbert and/or Sky will be at that meeting to help answer questions from the funding board. * Pow Wow Event Schedule (Delbert, Sky) We need input on fun things to do during the pow wow. Some ideas are: Halloween costume contest, calk walk, airplane building and toss, potato dance. * Flyers/map (Delbert) D will work with Sky to get all the info to put together a flyer by Monday Oct 8th. * Program (Heather) Heather will pull together all the info that will go into a 4 page program. The program will consist of 2 sheets of paper folded in half and stapled together. * Volunteers (Heather, Darryl). We need a list of duties and times in which people can sign up for. Time slots should be in 2 hr increments. H&D will need to announce and sign up volunteers. * Marquee (Miguel) Miguel is going to fill out and submit the form from ASCSU that will announce the pow wow on the marquee between the LSC and the library. * Advertising (Katrina) K will look to advertise this event both on campus and around Fort Collins. * We need help with this event, so encourage other students to attend the next AISES meeting.
