Sample Exploration Day Schedule

FORT COLLINS - In October and February of each year, high school students, their parents, and community members can explore engineering majors and careers at Colorado State University’s Engineering Exploration Day. The event will be held on campus in the Lory Student Center, Engineering & Glover Buildings from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Engineering Exploration Day is an informational event that is free of charge and open to the public. During the event, participants can attend their choice of “break-out” sessions, observe engineering design project demonstrations, and tour engineering laboratories. Colorado State University engineering professors will describe the College of Engineering departments and areas of study that include chemical, civil, electrical and computer, environmental, mechanical, and engineering science. Participants will also have the opportunity to discuss careers in engineering with faculty and students, and learn about undergraduate life at CSU.

Additionally, tours will be offered, and an open house of the new residence hall, Academic Village will be held in the afternoon. Current engineering students will share their experiences and answer participants’ questions during afternoon panel discussions.

Exploration Day activities also include an afternoon session directed toward women and minority students in engineering. Scholarships, advising and the University’s financial aid program will be discussed.

We will provide extra maps at check in, but numbers will be limited. Please take a moment to print the maps and directions you will need at the event.
