College of Engineering Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony

Notice of Participation
The deans, faculty, and staff congratulate you on your upcoming graduation! The Engineering College will recognize the bachelor's graduates and their achievements at our commencement ceremony.
Graduating Seniors - You should have received your notice of participation packet - if you have not, see your advisor. Please return the RSVP form and the Senior Survey to the Engineering Academic Affairs office, Room 102 Engineering Bldg, whether or not you are attending the ceremony!
Student Check in and Lineup
Please report to the Moby Intramural Gym NO LATER than 10:45 a.m. for the pre-ceremony lineup. You will pick up your name card at the check-in table located in the northwest corner of the room. Commencement marshals, wearing a yellow stole, will provide instructions for the processional lineup. The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. and will last approximately one hour and thirty minutes.
REGALIA IS REQUIRED TO PARTICIPATE
CASH ONLY will be accepted by the regalia company
Undergraduate robes are black. Students keep their cap and tassel. Students graduating with distinction (magna, sum, and cum laude) wear gold robes and are notified mid-semester indicating this status. This letter must be presented to regalia representatives in order to rent the gold robes. University Honors Scholars Program graduates wear green robes.

Regalia rental will take place in the Lory Student Center Art Lounge on Wednesday, May 14 and Thursday May 15, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. As last resort, you can rent your regalia in the Intramural Gym one hour prior to the ceremony.
Immediately after the ceremony, return your regalia to the Intramural Gym. Please note that you will be charged extra for late returns. Late returns should be sent directly to Unique Recognition, 333 East 4th Street, Suite 102, Loveland, CO 80537.
Commencement regalia reflects centuries of tradition in academia, and our College's tassel color is orange. Tassels are worn on the left side; you will not be required to switch your tassel during the ceremony. Mortarboard caps should be worn level and not on the back of your head. You will be allowed to keep the cap and tassel.
Announcements
Personalized announcements may be ordered online at www.cbgrad.com. Or, if you wish to order from a company representative, you may do so at the Lory Student Center Flea Market area (in front of the bookstore) on February 19, 20, and 21, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Allow 7-10 days for delivery.
Non-personalized announcements can also be purchased at the University Bookstore anytime.
Diplomas
You will receive a diploma cover during the ceremony and your actual diploma will be mailed to you approximately six weeks after commencement. If you cannot attend the ceremony, you may pick up a diploma cover from the Provost's Office. Your diploma cover can also be mailed to you for a $3.00 (U.S. mailing) postage fee; call (970) 491-6614.
Guests
The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. and will last approximately one hour and 30 minutes. No tickets are required to attend. Ushers will be available to assist guests. Persons in wheelchairs can be accommodated on both the north and south ends of the concourse level. (The best area to drop off persons in wheelchairs is at the north inclined ramp which will take them up to the concourse level—there are no elevators in this area.) Seating in the lower 2 rows will also be reserved for persons who have difficulty managing stairs. This seating is limited, so please do not plan for large groups to sit in this area. Sign language interpreters will be available during the ceremony. There will be reserved seating in Section P for hearing impaired guests.
Parking
There is no charge for commencement parking. Parking is available in the undesignated lot west of Moby Arena. Please keep in mind the following parking restrictions: 20-minute loading zones, metered zones, and red zones. Additional information regarding parking permissions or restrictions can be obtained from University Parking Services at 970.491.7041.
Photos
A professional photographer will take photos of each graduate as they cross the stage; the photograph will be sent to each graduate by their home department.

Student Conduct
Please remember that this ceremony is a very public event reflecting upon you as an individual and the University as a whole. For this reason, we request that you honor the occasion by not wearing anything "atypical" or "decorating" your regalia in any way. Alcoholic beverages and inappropriate substances or objects are not allowed in the facility; if brought into the building, they will be confiscated. Uniformed police officers and faculty marshals will be in attendance when you enter the assembly area and throughout the ceremony. In accordance with commencement policies, you may be requested to open robes, purses, etc. for inspection as you enter. We appreciate your recognizing the rights of others who wish to enjoy the day free from disruptive or otherwise inappropriate behavior.
