I do want to stay in chemical engineering field, just because it's so broad and I can cover so many different topics with chemical engineering, from the classical to the new bioprocesses and polymer research, which is really exciting.

I didn't know that civil engineering branched off into as many categories as it does. Being an undergraduate and working with a grad student on their thesis project gives me a jump ahead over other students, and it's just incredible work experience. What I can say to undergrads is that you have no idea what you’re going to see until you come out here, but it will surprise you very much.

Optics and extreme ultraviolet research are really interesting to me. And the NSF EUV center is such a great opportunity. The NSF people told the students, "You are really lucky; what you're working on is what's happening right now in science. You're studying it!"

Engineering science with the space concentration definitely had what I was looking for. You get to take courses in mechanical, civil, electrical; you just get a really broad spectrum of what engineering is.

I want to pursue medicine and would especially like to work with the UN and the World Health Organization where I can mix mechanical engineering and my work on stoves and also use the part of me that enjoys medicine and working with people and serving people.
