International Opportunities
"When I was trying to decide on a major, I was caught in a
dilemma. While I was very interested in technical subjects
such as math and science, a part of me wanted to continue to
study French and politics. I knew I needed an education that
allowed me to spend an equal amount of time in both fields.
So when the International Engineering curriculum was presented
to me, I knew I had found a major that catered to all of my
interests. The program allowed me to get a degree within an
engineering discipline and also continue to develop my French
language skills. In addition, flexibility within the program
made it easy to plan my semester abroad. My semester in France
was an amazing time for me. Not only did my French language
skills greatly improve; I also became aware of the intricate
web of connections that countries have with one another. As
a result of my study abroad experience, engineering began to
take on a whole new appearance. Engineers are leaders in today’s
society, and I believe that those leaders need to be educated
on the future impact they will have, not only in their own
communities but around the world."
