Undergraduate Programs
Freshman/New Student Orientation
An event geared towards empowering students to become advocates of their own educational success. Sessions are insightful, motivational and fun. Students and faculty get acquainted and enage in teamwork opportunities.
Student Leaders in Engineering (SLE)
Paid assistantships designed to provide students with valuable research experience in engineering. Awardees are responsible for 1) working in a research position during the academic year with faculty and staff in the College of Engineering, 2) attending professional development sessions, 3) and participating in the Annual Undergraduate Creativity & Research Symposium. Professional Development Workshop (PDW)
A one-day, informal event during which WMEP corporate sponsors are partnered with WMEP students. Industry professionals meet and teach students valuable job skills, and together they engage in team competitions.
Louis Stokes Colorado Alliance for Minority Participation (LS CO-AMP)
The primary goal is to double the number of underrepresented minority
students receiving baccalaureate degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering,
and Mathematics (STEM) in Colorado and the Four Corners area. Other
goals include substantially increasing the quantity and qualinty of
education for these students and institutionalizing programs and activities
by linking public and private sector resources through structured funding
and program development strategies.
LS CO-AMP is a collaborative effort composed of four community colleges,
one junior college, and nine four-year colleges and universities, and
several corporations, governmental agencies, professional membership
organizations, and community members. The alliance is also proud of
the partnerships that have been established with the four tribal nations:
Jicarilla Apache Tribe, Navajo Nation, Southern Ute Indian Tribe, and
the Ute Mountain Ute Tribe.
McNair Scholars Program
The McNair Scholars Program at Colorado State University prepares qualified juniors and seniors who are seeking careers in research and/or college teaching to enter graduate school and obtain doctoral degrees.
