2009-2010 Competition Vehicle

Subframe   Design Philosophy:

The 2010 Formula Hybrid team aims to expand on the success' of the 2009 team and create a legacy of domination for the future.

A lighter, more modern Formula SAE chassis has been donated to the program, and the goal is to achieve a significant reduction in both overall mass and center of gravity (CG) height from the 2009 car.

While several components from the 2009 car can be re-used, we are in need of your support. Please visit the 'donate' link to access our online giving page. If you wish to donate materials or parts, please contact one of the group members.

2010 Rear Subframe

The car is off it's stands and is now sitting under its own weight! Major components have been mounted and the majority of the welding has been completed. It's nice to know everything fits (just!) and it was a huge morale boost to the team to see it looking like a car again. Last years' car has been completely gutted, but while it's sad to see it as a bare frame, at least the components removed will have a nice, new (and hopefully blazingly fast!), home. It seems like we have a million things to do but it's coming together and should be able to move under it's own power in the very near future.

I would like to take this opportunity to invite everyone to the CSU College of Engineering's E-Days 2010. It's a chance for us as Seniors to show off our talants to the school, community, and members of industry; and is our "due date" for the project. So if you would like to see what we've been up to and are capable of, please come! It will be held Friday, April 16th from 9AM to 3PM, and barring a snowstorm like last year, we'll be out in the LSC Plaza.

As a final note, we still need donations to support the team in getting to Loudon, NH for competition. If you can give, please follow the "donate" link off the home page.
