Software - Matlab

Matlab is a visual research tool used for both classroom instruction and for research at CSU. The College of Engineering has two separately licensed Matlab products, each with a number of associated toolboxes. The two separate licenses are called "Classroom" and "Research" Matlab licenses.

The Classroom version is only installed in the ENS computer labs. The Classroom version can also be used on the Linux and Solaris compute servers but only when you connect to those machines from a Sun Ray. The Research version is installed everywhere else, including the Compute Servers and the Virtual Lab.

The different toolboxes in the different Matlab versions can be listed by opening Matlab, and typing ver in the Matlab command window. Note that one license may have toolboxes that the other does not have, and each toolbox has a separate number of limited floating licenses.

Should you require more or different toolboxes for either the Classroom or Research license, please contact ENS for pricing. (You will need to purchase these licenses.)
